Dr Joseph Harvey, DPM FACFAS
Dr. Harvey is a board-certified podiatrist and foot & ankle surgeon with advanced training in comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care of the lower extremity. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery since 2022. Known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach, Dr. Harvey combines the latest in medical and surgical techniques with a genuine commitment to helping patients heal and thrive.
Originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Harvey earned his degree in Materials Engineering from Penn State University. He later served a two-year church mission in northeastern Brazil, where he developed a deep interest in healthcare and service. After returning, he completed a Master’s degree in Biology at Texas A&M University–Commerce, followed by his Doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Harvey went on to complete a demanding three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston. His training included extensive experience in forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, trauma care, diabetic limb salvage, and advanced wound care. He developed a strong clinical focus in managing complex wounds, especially those caused by diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, and venous insufficiency. He utilizes advanced wound therapies—including biologic grafts, skin substitutes, and total contact casting—to accelerate healing and reduce the risk of amputation.
In addition to wound care, Dr. Harvey is experienced in arthroscopy, minimally invasive procedures, and regenerative therapies such as stem cell injections and tissue biologics. He is especially passionate about helping patients reduce chronic pain and regain mobility through tailored treatment plans.
Dr. Harvey has been caring for patients in the DFW area since 2017 and joined Metroplex Foot and Ankle Center in 2025.
